The project deals with the phenomenon of deserts as diverse and complex eco-systems. For the exemplary neighborhood in the periphery of Swakopmund, Namibia the authors propose a set of components for self sufficient desert-farming and energy production as tools to achieve self-sufficiency for single households and potentially economic empowerment on a cooperative scale.
